Full job description

Job Description – Nursery Administrator, Apprentice, Term time, you will be off over the school holidays but paid 39 weeks over 12 months plus holiday allowance

To provide high-quality administrative support to the nursery team while working towards a recognized business administration qualification. The role involves managing daily office tasks, welcoming families, and strictly upholding the nursery's safeguarding policies to ensure a safe environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

General Administration

Manage the nursery reception desk.
Greet parents, visitors, and contractors.
Answer phone calls and emails.
Forward messages to appropriate staff.
File, scan, and photocopy documents.
Maintain organised physical and digital records.
Monitor and order office supplies.
Update children's attendance registers daily.

Finance & Admissions Support

Assist with processing nursery fees.
Issue invoices and receipts to parents.
Input data into nursery management software.
File enrollment and funding forms.
Log inquiry forms from prospective families.

Safeguarding & Safety

Follow all nursery safeguarding policies.
Report any child protection concerns immediately.
Pass concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Check identities of all visitors.
Issue visitor badges to authorized guests.
Ensure visitors sign the guest log.
Prevent unauthorized entry to the building.
Maintain strict confidentiality of child records.
Follow GDPR guidelines for data protection.

Person SpecificationSkills & Abilities

Excellent written communication skills.
Clear and professional telephone manner.
Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred).
Enhanced DBS check (completed by the nursery upon hire).

Job Types: Part-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: From £8.25 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
