Full job description

Location: St Leonards‑on‑Sea, East Sussex

Salary: Competitive trainee salary based on experience, plus paid overtime and standby allowance with clear progression opportunities

Hours: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hiwire Lift Services has been a trusted name in Sussex since 2003. We are a family‑run business of skilled specialists delivering lift modernisation and maintenance across Sussex and Kent. Operating from St Leonards‑on‑Sea, we are looking for a mechanically minded trainee to build a long‑term career in lift engineering.

What You’ll Do

Carry out routine lift maintenance

Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota (1 week in 4)

Develop your skills on the job under expert guidance

Learn to diagnose faults, complete repairs and maintain lift systems

Progress towards NVQ qualifications in Lift Engineering

Mechanical background (e.g. vehicle mechanic or similar)

Qualification in engineering or trade‑related subjects preferred
