Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic veterinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients, supporting our vets, and ensuring the wellbeing of all animals under our care. This position offers an excellent opportunity within a friendly and supportive environment. The role involves working in a busy mixed practice, contributing to both clinical and laboratory tasks, and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.

Responsibilities

Assisting vets during consultations, surgeries, and procedures with clinical support.
Administering treatments, medications, and vaccinations as prescribed.
Monitoring anaesthetic and post-operative recovery of patients.
Maintaining accurate medical records and updating patient files diligently.
Providing pre- and post-operative care to animals, including wound management and nutritional advice.
Performing laboratory tests such as blood work and other diagnostic procedures.
Supporting client communication by explaining treatment plans and providing advice on animal health and welfare.
Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of clinical areas, including kennels, treatment rooms, and laboratory spaces.
Assisting with inventory management, stock control, and ordering supplies as needed.
Upholding health and safety standards within the practice at all times.

Requirements

Recognised veterinary nursing qualification (e.g., RCVS registration or equivalent).
Proven veterinary experience with a strong understanding of clinical procedures and animal handling.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to varying workload demands while maintaining high standards of care.
