Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dog Day Care Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves caring for dogs in a safe, friendly environment, ensuring their wellbeing and happiness throughout their stay. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle the demands of the job. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in animal care and looking to develop their experience within a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Supervising dogs during playtime and rest periods to ensure safety and positive behaviour
Assisting with feeding, watering, and administering medication as required
Cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards
Monitoring dogs for signs of distress or illness and reporting concerns to senior staff
Engaging with pet owners to provide updates on their dogs’ wellbeing and answer questions
Assisting with organisational tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining records
Handling physical tasks including lifting heavy items such as bags of dog food or equipment when necessary

Experience

Previous veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
Experience working with dogs or other animals in a professional setting is preferred
Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and active supervision throughout the day
A genuine passion for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential
