Job Overview
Saltys are seeking a talented and passionate Commis/Sous Chef/line chef to join our busy kitchen team. If your all about good food in a busy kitchen then bring your skills along and join us. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. This position requires strong culinary skills, a keen understanding of food safety, and the ability to manage a team effectively within a fast-paced environment. We also work as a close knit team and have fun along the way.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and managing staff.
Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards before serving.
Help manage kitchen schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for peak service times.

Qualifications

Experience as a Sous Chef/line chef Would be preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food production, and food safety practices.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
