Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Roofing Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in the roofing industry, providing opportunities to develop essential skills under the supervision of experienced tradespeople. The role is ideal for individuals interested in construction and looking to build a career in roofing, with a focus on safety, craftsmanship, and professional growth.

Duties

Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various types of buildings
Learn to interpret schematics and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
Support fabrication and carpentry tasks related to roofing structures
Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
Aid in the preparation of work sites, including setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all tasks
Assist with basic plumbing, masonry, or welding tasks as required for specific projects
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

Basic understanding of schematics, hand tools, power tools, and construction processes is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Previous experience in roofing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general construction is advantageous
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake physical labour including heavy lifting
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to travel to different sites is essential
