Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Roofing Apprentice to join our team. Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various types of buildings
- Learn to interpret schematics and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
- Support fabrication and carpentry tasks related to roofing structures
- Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
- Aid in the preparation of work sites, including setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all tasks
- Assist with basic plumbing, masonry, or welding tasks as required for specific projects
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Basic understanding of schematics, hand tools, power tools, and construction processes is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Previous experience in roofing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general construction is advantageous
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake physical labour including heavy lifting
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to travel to different sites is essential
