Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Qualified Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal welfare, excellent grooming skills, and a friendly demeanour to provide outstanding grooming services to our canine clients. This role involves working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount. Applicants must be committed to delivering high standards of animal care while ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing according to breed standards or customer preferences.
Assess each dog’s health and behaviour to ensure safe handling and grooming procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and aftercare advice.
Handle dogs safely, employing gentle restraint techniques while minimising stress for the animals.
Assist with the care and wellbeing of animals, including feeding, walking, or administering medication if required.
Keep accurate records of treatments provided and any special instructions from pet owners.

Skills

Proven experience in dog grooming with a strong understanding of breed-specific styles and grooming techniques.
Veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment.
Compassionate attitude towards animals, with patience and calmness during grooming procedures.
Organised approach to managing appointments, equipment, and record keeping.
