Full job description

Salary: Scale 4 £27,204 - £29,859

Location: Durham Headquarters

Hours/Contract: 37 hours, Monday to Friday,
Temporary Development for 12 months, or when Substantive post holder returns.

Closing Date: 5pm, Friday 7th of August 2026

The Role

To be responsible for the salaries and wages of all employees of
the Force and for the Police pensioners.

What You’ll Do

To process pay, allowances and deductions for all employees in
accordance with statutory and non-statutory regulations.
To provide pay and pension estimates on requests.
To reply to mortgage requests and correspondence received from
external agencies.
To assist with duties relating to Police Pensions and Local
Government Pension schemes.
Input details on to the force payroll system.
To liaise with internal and external customers on a daily basis.

What You’ll Bring

4 G.C.S.E. levels (Grade 9 to 4/A to C) including English Language or
Literature and Maths or an approved equivalent. An individual who
possesses an equivalent e.g. NVQ must provide evidence of Maths
and English.
At least 1 years Administration Experience.

If you hold a higher qualification than those required above or minimum 5 years relevant experience, please evidence this on your application and it will be reviewed by our recruitment team.
