Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to oversee our dark kitchen operations and ensure the highest standards of food production and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, with the ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment. This role requires a hands-on approach to cooking and food preparation, as well as the ability to supervise staff in a busy kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and support personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Train new staff on kitchen procedures, food safety practices, and equipment usage.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Address any issues or complaints promptly to maintain a positive dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

Proven experience in management role or similar supervisory position within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food production techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
Experience in bartending is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
A passion for cooking and helping others develop their culinary skills is highly desirable.
