Housing Administrator

Location: Based within the offices of Avondalecare (Kent) Ltd

Employer: Changing Minds Kent (CMK)

Hours: Part-time (20 hours)

About the Role

Changing Minds Kent (CMK) provides safe, secure, and high-quality housing for people experiencing complex mental health needs across Kent. Working alongside local authorities and partner organisations, we are committed to providing accommodation that promotes independence, wellbeing, and positive tenancy outcomes.

We are looking for an organised and proactive administrator to support the day-to-day management of our housing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge or to develop a career in housing administration. Previous housing experience is not essential. We're looking for someone with strong administrative skills, confidence using IT systems, and a willingness to learn.

Based within the Head office of Avondalecare (Kent) Ltd, you will work closely with support teams, landlords, contractors, and local authorities to help deliver an efficient and responsive housing service. Full training and support, including the use of our housing management system (Arthur), will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

· Independently update and maintain accurate records using the Arthur system.

· Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and property inspections.

· Liaise with contractors, landlords, local authorities, and support staff.

· Assist with property compliance, including Gas Safety, Fire Safety, EICRs, PAT Testing, Legionella, and EPCs.

· Assist with billing, rental income, invoices, and general housing administration.

· Respond to telephone and email enquiries and provide general administrative support.

· Assist with tenancy administration, including agreements, rent correspondence, and tenancy records.

· Support Housing Benefit and Universal Credit housing cost applications.

What We're Looking For

Essential

· Excellent administrative and organisational skills.

· Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

· Comfortable working with numbers, invoices, and maintaining accurate records.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.

· Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering a high-quality service.

· Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.

· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Additional Information

This role may occasionally require participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota for housing-related emergencies.
