Full job description

We are looking for an organised and reliable Purchasing Assistant / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role supporting the purchasing requirements of our factory and customer projects, alongside general administrative duties.

Main responsibilities

Ordering general factory stock and supplies
Ordering materials for specific customer projects
Liaising with suppliers and negotiating the best prices
Raising and checking purchase orders
Matching purchase orders against invoices and delivery notes
Confirming that materials have arrived and that quantities and prices are correct
Resolving any discrepancies with suppliers
Maintaining accurate purchasing records
Completing general administrative tasks as required

About you

The successful candidate will:

Be organised, reliable and able to manage priorities
Have excellent attention to detail
Be confident speaking with suppliers by telephone
Be comfortable negotiating prices
Be able to work independently and use their own initiative
Have good general computer skills
Communicate clearly and professionally
Have previous administrative or purchasing experience, although this is not essential

This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a varied part-time position within a busy and friendly working environment.

Working days: Thursday and Friday
Working hours: 7:30am–4:00pm ( although we can work around school hours)
Job type: Part-time, permanent
