Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in food production and baking to showcase their creativity and culinary expertise in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
Assist in the development of new pastry recipes and presentation styles
Ensure all items meet food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of production and equipment
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies are low
Collaborate with the team to ensure production deadlines are met during busy periods
Adhere to health and safety policies to create a safe working environment for all staff

Essential Requirements

At least 3 years' proven experience in professional pastry
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and culinary practices, including, but not limited to, mousses, cream whipping, piping skills, rolling, temperatures and CCPs
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations and allergen awareness
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Passion for creating visually appealing and delicious pastries and desserts
Physically fit, able to lift a minimum of 25kg, and stand for long periods
Good reading and writing skills in English
An excellent work ethic, reliable and self-motivated

Preferred Skills and Experience

5 years’ experience in patisserie
Accreditation in Food Hygiene and Allergy Awareness
Skilled in making artisan macarons
Leading junior members of staff in tasks

Hours

Monday - Friday, 8am-16.30pm

This role provides an excellent platform for culinary professionals eager to develop their skills further within a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in pastry arts.
