Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional and supportive hospitality environment, supporting senior chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the senior kitchen team with food production, ensuring timely and efficient service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
Help with portion control and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Contribute to stock control by assisting with inventory checks and storage of ingredients
Support team members during busy service periods, demonstrating effective teamwork and communication
Assist in training junior staff when required, fostering a collaborative kitchen atmosphere

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous but not essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of food production processes and restaurant operations
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
