Job Title: Front of House Receptionist (with Admin Support)
Job description:
Are you naturally chatty, energetic, and love meeting and interacting with people?
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our members and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly engaging individual whose primary role is to greet and welcome our members, making them feel very much part of the amazing community we have built here at ARC. While you will provide essential administrative support to keep our operations running smoothly, your personality and connection with our members come first. This role requires strong organisational skills, proficiency in office management, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do:
- Greet, chat with, and check in our gym and racquet members with genuine enthusiasm.
· Be a confident conversationalist, serving as the first point of contact in person, on the phone, and via email, ensuring messages are passed to appropriate members of the team.
- Catch up with members while selling drinks and snacks and manage stock.
- Make gym and court bookings using our Team Up and Clubspark software.
- Help members get set up by hiring out sports equipment.
- Provide vital administrative support to our management team, including digital record keeping in SharePoint and Microsoft.
- Keep the club safe, secure, and running smoothly during independent shifts.
Who You Are:
- A "people person" who loves a good chat and building a sense of community.
- Expressive, positive, and confident when interacting with members and team members.
- Organised and confident to handle front-desk administration
- Comfortable working independently, managing your own time, and occasionally stepping up to lock/unlock the building or be a Duty Manager.
- Flexible and collaborative-happy to step in and cover team holiday shifts when needed.
Role Requirements:
- Must be over 18.
- Must hold a current driving licence and have access to reliable transport (we are rural and not on a regular bus route).
- Comfortable working alone on shift.
- Trustworthy with keyholder experience (unlocking, locking, and setting the alarm).
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong computer literacy with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Previous reception experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with front desk operations and customer service best practices.
- Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication.
- Emergency First Aid at Work (training will be provided if you don’t hold a current certificate).
