Full job description

About the Role

This role is suitable for an organised healthcare or life-sciences professional who can coordinate clinical research activities, maintain accurate study documentation, and support researchers throughout the delivery of clinical studies.

You will work closely with investigators, research nurses, clinicians, study participants, laboratories, sponsors, and administrative teams to ensure that research projects are conducted efficiently, ethically, and in accordance with approved study protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day activities across assigned clinical research studies.
Schedule participant visits, assessments, follow-up appointments, and study procedures.
Maintain accurate study files and essential research documentation.
Support participant screening and recruitment activities.
Review study eligibility requirements and flag potential participants for clinical review.
Prepare study documentation for investigator and research-team use.
Track participant enrolment, retention, and study completion.
Maintain screening logs, enrolment logs, and study trackers.
Coordinate laboratory tests, sample collections, and specimen-processing requirements.
Ensure research data is entered accurately into study databases.
Review study records for missing or inconsistent information.
Support investigators with regulatory and ethics documentation.
Assist with amendments, approvals, and study-document updates.
Prepare documentation for monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.
Coordinate communication with research sponsors and external study partners.
Track adverse-event documentation and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
Monitor study timelines and outstanding research activities.
Maintain investigational-product or study-material records where applicable.
Support participant communications and approved appointment reminders.
Prepare regular study-progress and recruitment reports.

What We Are Looking For

At least 2–3 years of experience in clinical research, healthcare administration, life sciences, research support, or a related role.
Experience maintaining clinical or research documentation.
Strong organisational and record-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to coordinate several studies or research activities simultaneously.
Understanding of patient confidentiality and healthcare data protection.
Strong communication skills when working with clinicians, participants, and research partners.
Ability to follow detailed study protocols and operating procedures.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and digital record systems.
Ability to manage deadlines and follow up on outstanding documentation.
Strong written and spoken English.
A degree or professional qualification in life sciences, healthcare, biomedical science, psychology, nursing, or a related discipline is preferred.

Preferred Skills

Experience working within clinical trials or healthcare research.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice principles.
Experience using electronic data-capture systems.
Familiarity with clinical-trial management systems.
Experience supporting ethics or regulatory submissions.
Knowledge of informed-consent and participant-recruitment procedures.
Familiarity with research governance requirements.
Experience supporting monitoring visits or research audits.
Understanding of adverse-event reporting processes.
Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, university, or hospital research teams.
Current Good Clinical Practice training is desirable.

You are precise, dependable, and comfortable working in an environment where documentation quality is essential. You understand that clinical research depends on following approved protocols, maintaining accurate records, and protecting the rights and confidentiality of study participants.

You communicate clearly, raise discrepancies early, and take responsibility for completing study activities on schedule. You recognise the boundaries of a coordination role and refer clinical decisions or participant-safety concerns to appropriately qualified research

Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
