We have an exciting opportunity for a versatile and enthusiastic Singing Teacher with a classical background to join our thriving and successful Music Department.
The ideal candidate will have highly effective teaching and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire, empower and motivate students to develop their love of singing and broaden their musical horizons. Essential to the post is a genuine commitment to putting students first and an enjoyment of working with young people.

Experience & Background
An inspirational and encouraging tutor, who can motivate students, help them technically build their voices and broaden their musical horizons. Experience of teaching students aged 13-18 would be an advantage and a broad knowledge of repertoire suitable for developing voices in this age range is essential. The tutor would be working in an enthusiastic and passionate department of highly motivated professional musicians. A team player with good communication skills, you will have an enthusiastic approach in all of your dealings with students, colleagues and parents.
Duties
- Enable the students to perform musically and to achieve their full potential in music examinations, competitions and concert performances as appropriate
- Facilitate one-to-one lessons
- Carry out student assessments and provide written reports
- Completing any administrative tasks in relation to the post including recording missed lessons
This post is Regulated Activity.
Hours of Work
From September 2026, we anticipate that the successful candidate would be offered in the region of one full day teaching with the possibility of more as the academic year progresses. There is some flexibility as to when the 1-1 tutoring can take place and applicants are invited to provide information on the days and hours of their availability as part of their application.

Pre-Appointment Checks
