The role
This post involves working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will support children both individually and in small groups, addressing their learning, social and emotional needs. Further to which, setting up and resourcing small-group activities, and working collaboratively with teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure high-quality provision and support. The role also includes supporting the academy’s wraparound provision daily, 3:15pm - 6pm, supervising, facilitating play opportunities.
We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant and Wraparound Club Playworker who:
- Has experience of working with children with SEND and a passion for supporting their learning, development and wellbeing.
- Is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Promotes inclusion, independence and positive behaviour both in the classroom and within wraparound provision.
- Can engage children in safe, creative and enjoyable play activities that support their social and emotional development.
- Works effectively as part of a team whilst using initiative when required.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all children.
- Communicates effectively with pupils, parents, carers and staff.
- Is committed to supporting the Christian ethos and values of the academy.

This posts are term time only and on a fixed-term basis until 31st August 2027, subject to a probationary period. There may be potential for extension, subject to school needs.
