Full job description

We're Hiring: HVAC Engineer

Location: Gateshead
Salary: Up to £42,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday | 40 Hours Per Week

We're looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a large-scale, fast-paced critical environment, supporting the maintenance and operation of HVAC and mechanical building services systems across a busy operational site.

What you'll be doing:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems
Fault finding, servicing, and repairing air conditioning and ventilation equipment
Maintaining AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and associated plant equipment
Supporting plant room inspections and routine maintenance activities
Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety and compliance standards
Completing maintenance reports and documentation accurately
Working closely with the wider engineering and site teams to ensure smooth operations

What we're looking for:

F-Gas Category 1 qualification (essential)
Previous experience within a commercial maintenance or Facilities Management environment
Strong HVAC fault-finding and maintenance experience
Good understanding of mechanical building services systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

Experience working within critical or fast-paced environments
Multi-skilled maintenance experience
Knowledge of compliance and plant room operations
