Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Steel Frame, Groundworks & Concrete Operative to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building robust steel frameworks, executing groundworks, and pouring concrete to bring large-scale projects to life. Your energy and expertise will contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality construction processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial developments, infrastructure projects, to agricultural buildings, ensuring structures are built to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the assembly and installation of steel frameworks using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Prepare sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring safety measures are in place for groundworks
Execute excavation, trenching, and foundation work with precision and adherence to project specifications
Pour and lay concrete accurately for foundations, floors, and other structural elements
Operate heavy machinery such as diggers or telehandlers for material movement and site logistics
Conduct routine inspections of work areas to maintain safety standards and quality control throughout each phase

Skills

Practical construction or groundwork experience
Experience with concreting, including preparing bases, laying and finishing concrete
Ability to erect steel-framed buildings/sheds, or relevant steelwork experience
Good understanding of basic construction methods and site safety
Ability to use hand and power tools safely
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Able to work as part of a team and also use initiative when working independently
Reliable, hardworking and punctual
Valid commercial driving license essential for transporting materials or equipment between sites
