Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Event Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of attendees, staff, and premises during various events. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance, loss prevention, and emergency response. This paid position offers an opportunity to work in dynamic settings, providing essential security services at high-profile gatherings and events.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough surveillance of event venues using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential security threats.
Enforce access control measures by checking tickets, badges, or identification to prevent unauthorised entry.
Maintain a visible security presence to deter disruptive behaviour and ensure the safety of all attendees.
Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, by providing first aid assistance when necessary.
Monitor crowd movements and behaviour to prevent overcrowding or unsafe conditions.
Collaborate with event organisers and emergency services to coordinate security efforts effectively.
Document incidents accurately in reports for future reference and review.
Conduct regular patrols of the venue to identify hazards or suspicious activity, ensuring all areas are secure.

Qualifications

Prior experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques is desirable.
Possession of valid first aid certification is preferred; training can be offered for suitable candidates.
Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain alert over extended periods.
Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
A professional demeanour with a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
