Eventus Legal are seeking a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant to join the expanding Wills, Trusts and Probate team of a respected law firm based in Darlington, County Durham. Role Responsibilities
The incoming Legal Secretary will work as part of a centralised typing pool, providing high-level administrative and secretarial support to fee earners within the Wills, Trusts and Probate team. You will be part of a supportive team committed to delivering a first-class client experience. Responsibilities will include:
- Audio typing and document production across the department
- Working on the firm’s case management system
- Opening, updating, and closing files
- Diary management and appointment scheduling
- Preparing legal documentation, forms, and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, third parties, and internal teams
- Processing payments and managing incoming/outgoing post
- General administration and legal support duties as required
Person Specification
This job is ideal for a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or Legal PA with at least 2 years’ experience gained within a legal environment. Experience within Wills, Trusts and Probate is desirable but not essential, and applications are welcomed from candidates across any legal discipline. To succeed in this position, you will:
- Have prior experience working in a legal environment
- Be highly organised with strong administrative and IT skills
- Show excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
- Be adaptable, friendly, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion
