Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, ensuring effective scheduling and task delegation.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, vehicles and equipment to identify issues and implement timely repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory of tools and supplies.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety among the maintenance team.
Train new staff on maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and proper use of tools and equipment.
Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and resolve any maintenance-related issues.

Experience

Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to maintenance operations.
