Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to diverse SEMH student needs, including those with special educational requirements.
Develop innovative experiments and activities that encourage hands-on learning and critical thinking.
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to create inclusive learning plans that accommodate individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to safety protocols during experiments and activities.
Support students’ overall development by integrating communication skills, tutoring, and social-emotional learning into daily instruction.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advances in science education.

Qualifications

Proven experience in teaching science at various levels, with a strong understanding of curriculum standards.
Background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to students of all ages.
Experience working with children, including toddlers or young learners, is a plus.
Knowledge of tutoring techniques that enhance student understanding and engagement.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan lessons that are both educational and stimulating.
Passion for science education combined with a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
