Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HGV Fitter/Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical and electrical background, keen to work in a dynamic environment that values precision and professionalism. The position is fully paid and requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Duties

· Maintenance, servicing and repair of HGV drainage vehicles and HGV tractor units

· Work on vacuum tankers and ADR-spec vehicles

· Maintenance and repair of Eco Vac and DISAB systems

· Fault diagnosis and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems

· Carry out inspections, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs

· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently

· Ensure all work complies with DVSA and company standards

· Complete workshop paperwork and defect reports accurately

Participate in on-call or overtime rota where required
Skills

· Proven experience as an HGV fitter or technician

· Experience with specialist drainage or vacuum tanker equipment preferred

· Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Experience working on ADR vehicles

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Class 1 or Class 2 licence

· Relevant HGV qualification Commercial Vehicle IRTEC Qualification

or time-served experience
