Salary

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus/PSV Mechanic to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Barnstaple. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, This is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve.

Bus/PSV Mechanic

Based at our Barnstaple depot, located at Pottington industrial estate.
Pay rate of £20.27 per hour for days engineer (Monday- Friday totalling 39 hours a week)
Enhanced rate of pay for overtime.

Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where your skills keep the community moving?

What you’ll be doing:

Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and occasional roadside repairs
Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience
Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team

What we’re looking for:

NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent)
Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles
A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail
A team player with good communication skills
Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)
