Pastry CDP

Location: Hyll Hotel

Reports to: Sous Chef & Head Chef

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Pastry Chef to join the kitchen team at Hyll. Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality, seasonal dishes that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys Pastry work, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and thrives in a professional but creative kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen.
Prepare and take ownership of the pastry section of the kitchen
Assist with service across restaurant, private dining, and events.
Help supervise and support other chefs, ensuring a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Maintain consistency in flavour, presentation and portion control.
Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are met at all times.
Assist with stock rotation, ordering and waste control.
Contribute ideas to menu development that highlight regional ingredients and seasonal produce.
Support smooth kitchen operations during busy services and events.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in the pasty section of a quality restaurant or hotel kitchen.
Passion for fresh food and seasonal British produce.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
