Full job description

We have an immediate vacancy for an experienced Accounts Clerk to take full responsibility for our accounts payable & receivable, weekly payroll and receptionist duties.

The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the duties detailed below after a familiarization period working with the current Accounts Clerk prior to their imminent retirement.

We use TAS Books accounting software (a Sage product) so any previous experience with this system would be beneficial as of course would knowledge of payroll.

Our office working hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and we offer 23 days holiday per year in addition to Bank Holidays. The salary offered for this position will be dependent on previous experience but is expected to be in the region of £25,000 - £30,000 pa.

This is a permanent full-time role in a long-established family owned engineering business in Rugby with 25 employees, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with other staff.

Accounts Clerk / Receptionist Duties

Accounts Payable/Receivable:

Process and pay supplier invoices.
Reconcile purchase invoices against purchase orders and advice notes
Process sales invoices
Record sales receipts
Maintain sales and purchase ledgers
Reconcile Bank Statements
Process Cash Book and Nominal Ledger
Maintain Petty Cash

Payroll:

Maintain weekly paid staff clocking’s and holiday bookings.
Input & Process weekly payroll (currently 12 weekly paid staff).
Process & maintain Tax & NI payments to HMRC.

Record Keeping:

File all financial and payroll documents.

Receptionist :

Manage incoming calls.
Receive visitors.
Receive small deliveries and mail.
Order Stationery

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
