Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking Warehouse & Fulfilment Assistant to join our York-based team.

The Role
As a Warehouse & Fulfilment Assistant, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse and order fulfilment operations.
This is a varied and hands-on position covering goods receiving, stock management, picking and packing, order fulfilment, dispatch, packaging preparation and general warehouse duties.
Accuracy and attention to detail are particularly important, as you will help ensure customer orders are prepared correctly, incoming and outgoing stock is properly recorded, and high operational standards are maintained throughout the warehouse.
You will work closely with colleagues across warehouse, production, customer service and administration to ensure orders are processed efficiently and customers receive the correct products on time.
Key Responsibilities
Goods Receiving & Stock Management
- Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming deliveries.
- Check goods against delivery notes, purchase orders and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure incoming stock is correctly identified, stored and recorded within the warehouse management system.
- Follow stock rotation procedures and maintain accurate stock records.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods or incorrect deliveries.
- Assist with regular stock counts and periodic stock-taking activities.
- Help maintain an organised, clearly labelled and efficient stock-storage system.
Order Fulfilment & Dispatch
- Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Pack and prepare orders carefully for dispatch.
- Carry out appropriate order checks to help ensure the correct products and quantities are dispatched.
- Prepare shipping documentation and organise delivery paperwork.
- Liaise with colleagues regarding stock shortages, discrepancies or delayed orders.
- Prepare products and internal production orders for packaging and dispatch.
- Help ensure customer orders are completed accurately and within required timescales.
- Support the smooth day-to-day flow of orders from receipt through to final dispatch.
Warehouse & Production Support
- Assist with safely receiving, moving and organising deliveries and stock.
- Prepare products, packaging materials and other items required for production.
- Operate appropriate warehouse and production equipment following training, including labelling and laser batch-coding equipment.
- Assist with batch coding, expiry-date coding and product preparation where required.
- Ensure stock, packaging materials and finished products are stored correctly.
- Maintain clean, tidy and well-organised warehouse and working areas.
- Follow Company procedures, Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices at all times.
- Identify and report potential problems or opportunities to improve warehouse and fulfilment processes.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across warehouse, production, customer service and administration.
- Communicate clearly and professionally when reporting stock issues, order discrepancies or other problems.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and Company procedures accurately.
- Provide feedback and raise concerns promptly where required.
- Contribute positively to a friendly, productive and supportive team environment.
- Assist colleagues with other reasonable duties when required to support the smooth running of the business.

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial, although full training will be provided:
- Warehouse or stockroom operations.
- Goods receiving and stock control.
- Picking, packing and order fulfilment.
- Dispatch and courier preparation.
- Warehouse management or stock-control systems.
- Manufacturing, production, distribution or ecommerce fulfilment.
Previous warehouse or fulfilment experience would be advantageous but is not essential for a candidate with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
Please note: This is a physical and hands-on role. Manual handling forms part of the position and may include lifting and moving individual items weighing up to approximately 25kg, using appropriate safe working practices.
