THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive, creative and results-focused Digital Communications and Social Media Manager to support LAJ Academy’s next phase of growth. The contractor will grow our online communities, produce digital content, promote courses, generate learner enquiries, support course conversion, identify suitable contracts and assist with tender applications.
SIX-MONTH TARGETS
Increase Telegram channel membership by at least 50%.
Increase YouTube subscribers by at least 25%.
Increase the permission-based email list by at least 20%.
Generate measurable monthly growth in course enquiries and enrolments.
Conduct contract and tender searches at least twice weekly.
Maintain an updated tender-opportunity tracker.
Identify at least three credible opportunities each month, subject to market availability.
Support suitable tender applications approved by the CEO. Starting figures will be recorded and agreed at the beginning of the engagement. All audience growth must be genuine and ethical. Purchased followers, bots, artificial engagement, misleading promotions and unlawfully obtained mailing lists are prohibited.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital communications and community growth Develop and implement a six-month digital communications and growth plan.
Manage LAJ Academy’s Telegram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and email communications.
Produce professional written, graphic and video content. Maintain a monthly content calendar.
Optimise YouTube titles, descriptions, thumbnails, keywords, playlists and calls to action. Repurpose webinars, podcasts, interviews and teaching sessions.
Develop lawful email-list growth campaigns and automated email sequences. Monitor analytics and recommend improvements.
Respond professionally to learner and community enquiries. Comply with UK GDPR, PECR and LAJ Academy policies. Course marketing and learner recruitment
The contractor will promote:
Medical education courses. NHS and IMG career-development programmes.
Research, clinical audit and teaching courses.
City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support.
City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care.
E-learning, staff training, first-aid and personal-development programmes.
Responsibilities include generating qualified enquiries, following up prospective learners, explaining programmes accurately, supporting enrolment, building employer relationships and developing ethical referral campaigns. The contractor must not make misleading claims about qualifications, accreditation, employment, immigration outcomes or future sponsorship.
TENDER AND CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT
The contractor must proactively help LAJ Academy identify and pursue suitable education, healthcare-training and workforce-development contracts.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting structured tender searches at least twice weekly. Registering and maintaining supplier profiles and automated alerts.
Monitoring Contracts Finder, Find a Tender, NHS Atamis, ProContract, In-Tend, Delta eSourcing and other relevant portals. Searching for contracts, frameworks, dynamic markets, grants and subcontracting opportunities.
Identifying NHS, government, local-authority, university and college opportunities. Identifying consortium and delivery-partner opportunities.
Maintaining a tender pipeline and submission calendar. Reviewing specifications and completing initial bid/no-bid assessments.
Assisting with expressions of interest and supplier questionnaires. Supporting tender, framework and grant applications.
Drafting and editing method statements and organisational profiles. Compiling policies, CVs, qualifications, references and case studies.
Checking submissions for accuracy, compliance, word limits and deadlines. Reviewing buyer feedback and improving subsequent applications.

MONITORING AND REPORTING
Maintain records of campaigns, enquiries, referrals, conversions and sales. Use approved campaign links, referral codes or CRM records.
Provide a concise weekly update and detailed monthly report. Report progress against the agreed targets.
Monitor audience growth, course conversion, revenue and tender activity.
Maintain confidentiality and protect learner and commercial information.
COMMISSION- BASED REMUNERATION
This is a flexible, commission-based freelance opportunity. There is no guaranteed basic salary and no guaranteed minimum number of hours. The contractor will receive 5% of net qualifying course fees actually received from eligible sales directly generated or converted by them.
Commission conditions:
Sales must be attributable through an approved campaign link, referral code, CRM entry or documented communication.
Commission is calculated on net course fees actually received and proportionately where fees are paid by instalments.
Refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, VAT, discounts and payment-processing costs are excluded.
No commission is payable on cancelled or fully refunded enrolments. Commission will normally be calculated and paid monthly after the applicable refund period. Commission for employer-funded or commissioned programmes requires prior written agreement.
No minimum earnings or on-target earnings are guaranteed.
The contractor is responsible for their own tax and National Insurance obligations, subject to the correct legal-status determination.
FLEXIBLE WORKING
The contractor may organise their own working time and methods. There are no fixed or guaranteed weekly hours. They must complete agreed deliverables, attend essential pre-arranged meetings, respond to tender deadlines, maintain appropriate communication and provide evidence of progress.
FUTURE SKILLED WORKER SPONSORSHIP TERMS
Skilled Worker sponsorship is not available for the initial freelance engagement. If LAJ Academy secures sufficient sustainable contract income and creates a genuine eligible full-time vacancy, the successful contractor will receive the first opportunity to be considered for that position before external recruitment.
Consideration will take account of target achievement, digital communications quality, learner conversions, attributable revenue, tender support, partnership development, professional conduct and contribution to sustainable growth.
Any future salaried offer and Certificate of Sponsorship will remain conditional upon: Satisfactory performance. LAJ Academy securing sufficient sustainable business. Creation of a genuine and eligible full-time vacancy. LAJ Academy holding or obtaining the appropriate sponsor licence.
The candidate meeting all immigration requirements. The duties satisfying an eligible occupation code. The guaranteed salary meeting the applicable Skilled Worker threshold and occupational going rate.
LAJ Academy maintaining the financial capacity and business need for the role. Compliance with Home Office sponsorship duties. Issuance of a separate written employment offer and contract.
The initial freelance commission cannot be used to meet the guaranteed salary requirement for a future sponsored role. Meeting targets does not create an automatic entitlement to employment, sponsorship, a Certificate of Sponsorship or a visa. Any future immigration application remains subject to Home Office approval.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in digital communications, social media, public relations or community development. Evidence of successfully growing an online audience. Strong writing, editing and content-production skills. Experience generating and following up customer or learner enquiries.
Confidence using major social-media and email-marketing platforms. Ability to interpret analytics and improve campaigns.
Excellent organisation and deadline-management skills. Ability to work independently and proactively. Willingness to search for contracts and support tender applications. Legal right to undertake the initial engagement without immediate UK visa sponsorship. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Relevant marketing, communications, business or education qualification. Experience marketing healthcare, education or regulated qualifications. Knowledge of the NHS, IMG or adult social care markets.
Experience using Contracts Finder, Find a Tender or NHS Atamis. Tender-writing, bid-development or grant-application experience. Experience with CRM systems, email automation, Google Analytics or YouTube Studio.
