Finance & Accounts Manager

Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per year
Job type: Full-time
Location: Bromsgrove – office based

Overview

Dental Warehouse Ltd is an established dental supplies business based in Bromsgrove, supplying dental dealers and customers throughout the UK.

We are looking for an experienced and organised Finance & Accounts Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our accounts and finance function.

This is a hands-on role within a small, established business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the purchase and sales ledgers, reconciling accounts and banks, controlling supplier payments and providing the Directors with clear and reliable financial information.

You will work closely with the Directors, administration and warehouse teams and liaise with our external accountants when required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day accounts and finance function
Maintain the purchase ledger and process supplier invoices
Maintain the sales ledger and monitor customer accounts
Carry out regular bank and credit card reconciliations
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
Prepare and manage supplier payment runs
Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with credit control
Maintain accurate records of payments, receipts and expenses
Monitor company cash flow and provide regular updates to the Directors
Assist with VAT returns and other statutory accounting requirements
Prepare month-end information and management reports
Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis when required
Liaise with external accountants and provide information for year-end accounts
Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records and supporting documentation
Review existing accounting procedures and help improve financial controls and efficiency where appropriate

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance management role
Good working knowledge of purchase ledger and sales ledger
Experience with bank and supplier reconciliations
Experience preparing and processing supplier payments
Good understanding of VAT and general accounting procedures
Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar
Good Microsoft Excel skills
Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities
The confidence to identify and investigate discrepancies
The ability to communicate financial information clearly to Directors and colleagues
The ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounts function

An accounting or bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous, but practical experience and the ability to manage the day-to-day accounts function are equally important.
