Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, highly organised, and dependable Production, Process & Quality Assistant to work directly alongside our Production Director at our manufacturing facilities in Westbury, Wiltshire. This is a unique, high-visibility opportunity for a driven individual looking to help actively build, scale, and professionalise our growing number plate business.
You will start on the shop floor, undergoing close, hands-on mentorship to master our core printing functions, premium assembly lines (including 3D gel and 4D acrylic finishing), and substrate components. Once you have mastered these day-to-day operations, your focus will expand into business management. You will work directly with the Director to design, oversee, and implement workflow changes while actively participating with the team to achieve ISO 9001 standard certification. If you are a proactive problem-solver who can follow strict legal and quality instructions, manage daily operations, and think critically about how to make things run faster and better, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Process & Change Implementation: Evaluate current manufacturing workflows, identify production bottlenecks, design operational changes, and oversee their successful integration on the shop floor.
- ISO 9001 Quality System Drive: Assist the Director and team in building, documenting, and launching a Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all processes meet the requirements needed to achieve ISO 9001 certification
- Printing & Laser Functions: Take responsibility for printing legal reflective backings and operating specialised equipment for laser-cutting 4D characters.
- Assembly & Quality Control: Manually assemble, align, and bond premium number plates, ensuring 100% precision and strict adherence to British Standards (BS AU 145e).
- Business Growth Support: Assist the Director in scaling production capacity to support new trade accounts, e-commerce volumes, and order fulfilment.
- Workplace Organisation: Design and maintain strict housekeeping and organizational systems to optimize stock levels (components, acrylics, film) and keep the workshop pristine.
Required Skills & Qualities
- Growth Mindset: Highly keen to learn, with a genuine interest in business operations, scaling, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Process-Driven: Methodical and highly organised thinker who loves creating order, managing documentation, and optimizing physical space.
- Change Leadership: Assertive enough to oversee change implementation and coach other team members on newly adopted manufacturing processes.
- High Trust & Communication: Comfortable working one-on-one with the Director, taking direct instruction well while knowing when to propose proactive improvements.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional alignment skills and visual accuracy (crucial for error-free component assembly and strict ISO quality tracking).
