Full job description

Are you an experienced people leader who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment? Here at GXO, we’re looking for an ambitious and motivated Shift Manager to join our multi-user site in West Hallam. You’ll support the Operations Manager in leading a busy warehouse operation. You’ll be responsible for coordinating people, resourced, and processes to ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved while creating a safe, engaged, and high-performing team culture.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Typically you will work 'any 5 from 7' on rotating shifts including 05:30 till 14:00, 13:30 till 22:00 and 12:30 till 2030.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,173 per annum plus a 7.5% shift premium and 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

Lead, coach and develop Team Leader and Warehouse Colleagues, creating a motivated and high-performing workforce
Drive operational performance, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and customer service targets are consistently achieved
Manage warehouse resources effectively, including workforce planning, shift cover, workload allocation, and productivity monitoring
Champion Health & Safety compliance, ensuring all colleagued follow safe systems of work and operational procedures

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or operational environment
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop colleagues at all levels
Experience managing employee relations, performance, absence, and workforce planning within a fast-paced operation
Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance requirements
