McShane Packaging is a well-established food packaging manufacturer based in Armagh, producing mushroom punnets, poultry/veg trays and ready meal trays for the food industry. We're looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our day shift.
About the Role
The Team Leader oversees the daily operations of the production floor during their shift, ensuring production processes run smoothly, safely and efficiently.
● Ensure rolls of sheet material are ready for the TFT machines and assist operators loading rolls
● Print all pallet labels, ensuring correct information is printed on each
● Check the quality of finished sheet material and finished product
● Ensure finished product is palletised and wrapped properly
● Carry out tool changes when required
● Liaise with the Stores Department to ensure sufficient material for the Extruders
● Work with maintenance staff to keep equipment functioning correctly and efficiently
● Quickly address and resolve production issues or machine malfunctions to minimise downtime
● Ensure all BRC documentation is completed correctly
● Ensure staff comply with hygiene policy and PPE requirements
● Ensure staff have correct, clean uniform and take appropriate breaks
● Maintain excellent housekeeping standards at all times
● Collaborate with the quality assurance team on certification standards and audits
● Implement corrective actions on safety issues and ensure staff follow safety procedures
● Take ownership of product safety and actively support the quality culture at McShane Packaging
Essential Criteria
● Previous Team Leading experience
● Experience operating or leading a team on Inpak, Kiefel, or similar thermoforming manufacturing equipment
● Strong communication skills
● Good written and spoken English
● Highly motivated — able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
● Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
Desirable Criteria
● Experience with tool changes
● Experience liaising with maintenance/stores in a production setting
