Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position where you'll be required to attend our Bristol office 2/3 days per week, as well as client site as required.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will join a skilled delivery team responsible for enhancing and evolving a live digital service used by our key UK Government client. You'll develop new functionality, improve existing capabilities, and help deliver frequent, high-quality releases that provide tangible value to users. Working closely with CGI colleagues and client stakeholders, you'll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, share best practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative delivery. As a senior member of the team, you'll take ownership of your work while supporting colleagues and helping drive successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Develop high-quality features using .NET and JavaScript/TypeScript technologies.
Deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications hosted on AWS.
Engage with client stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Improve application architecture, coding standards and engineering best practices.
Develop and maintain APIs, backend services and user-facing functionality.
Optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps practices.
Innovate within an Agile delivery environment, contributing to sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
Share knowledge with colleagues, promoting continuous learning across the team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong experience developing modern software solutions using Microsoft technologies and JavaScript/TypeScript within Agile delivery teams. You'll be comfortable working directly with clients, passionate about engineering quality, and motivated by delivering innovative digital services that create lasting business value.

Essential qualifications

Strong commercial experience developing applications with .NET.
Excellent JavaScript and/or TypeScript development skills.
Experience working with MongoDB.
Experience developing and deploying containerised applications using Docker.
Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Strong understanding of Agile software development practices.
Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with clients.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
