Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. The successful candidate will deliver engaging dance lessons, foster a positive learning environment, and support students’ artistic growth. The Dance Teacher will be responsible for planning lessons, demonstrating techniques, and encouraging students to achieve their personal best.
Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive dance lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate different dance styles and techniques.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Organise performances or showcases to showcase students’ progress and build their confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate curriculum activities and special events.
- Maintain a safe learning environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behaviour.
- Support the organisation of dance-related activities, workshops, or competitions as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching dance or related physical education disciplines, particularly ballet, tap and modern.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage children effectively.
- Experience working with children, including behaviour management techniques.
- Knowledge of special education needs and inclusive teaching practices is desirable.
- Ability to plan creative lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in lesson planning and record keeping.
- Childcare experience or early childhood education background is advantageous.
- Skills in proofreading or editing are beneficial for preparing educational materials or programmes.
- A passion for fostering creativity through dance and physical activity.
