Job Summary

Homeless Connect delivers FareShare in NI, working to reduce food waste, tackle food insecurity and support communities across Northern Ireland. The Community Programmes & Partnership Manager will lead the development, operation and growth of the Community Kitchen and Training Hub, creating opportunities for people to build practical food skills, maximise the use of surplus food and improve understanding of nutrition, food waste and food poverty.

The postholder will lead the delivery of training, community engagement and capacity-building programmes for Community Food Members, participants and people accessing Homeless Connect services. They will also develop corporate engagement opportunities that support the Hub's sustainability, working closely with the Income Generation Manager to strengthen partnerships, generate income and maximise social impact.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the postholder will line manage the Community Chef and be responsible for the Hub's performance, budget management, income targets and ongoing development.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Community Kitchen and Training Hub Leadership

· Lead the development, day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the Community Kitchen and Training Hub.

· Ensure the Hub operates safely, effectively and in compliance with all relevant legislation, organisational policies and quality standards.

· Develop and implement operational plans that support the growth, sustainability and impact of the Hub. Manage the Hub budget, ensuring resources are used effectively and activities are delivered within agreed financial parameters.

· Contribute to the achievement of income and sustainability targets through training programmes, corporate engagement activities, venue hire and other Hub-based initiatives.

· Monitor performance against agreed objectives, budgets and targets, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.

· Line manage the Community Chef and support the effective engagement of volunteers within Hub activities.

Programme Delivery and Community Development

· Lead the development and delivery of training, skills development and engagement programmes for Community Food Members, participants and people accessing Homeless Connect services.

· Build the capacity of Community Food Members to maximise the use of surplus food, enhance food provision and improve outcomes for participants.

· Develop opportunities for participants to gain practical cooking, nutrition, budgeting and independent living skills.

· Promote best practice in food safety, nutrition, sustainability and the effective use of surplus food.

· Support the development of accredited training, employability pathways and innovative approaches to food redistribution and community food provision.

· Use feedback, evaluation and impact evidence to continuously improve programmes and demonstrate outcomes.

Corporate Engagement and Income Generation

· Develop and deliver corporate engagement programmes that support the objectives and sustainability of the Community Kitchen and Training Hub.

· Create meaningful volunteering, team building and learning opportunities that align with corporate ESG and CSR priorities.

· Work collaboratively with the Income Generation Manager to support the development, stewardship and retention of corporate partnerships.

· Contribute to the achievement of income targets through corporate activities, events, venue hire and other Hub-based opportunities.

· Ensure corporate partners receive a high-quality experience and that impact is effectively captured and communicated.

Partnership Development and Stakeholder Engagement

· Develop and maintain effective relationships with Community Food Members, corporate partners, funders, local organisations and other stakeholders.

· Represent Homeless Connect and FareShare NI at relevant networks, events and partnership forums.

· Promote the work of the Community Kitchen and Training Hub through presentations, events and stakeholder engagement activities.

· Work collaboratively across Homeless Connect to maximise opportunities, impact and organisational objectives.

Monitoring, Reporting and Quality Assurance

· Monitor and report on performance against agreed targets, budgets, outcomes and income objectives.

· Maintain accurate records and provide reports for senior management, funders, trustees and other stakeholders.

· Use data, feedback and evaluation to improve service quality and demonstrate impact.

· Ensure appropriate safeguarding, health and safety, food safety, compliance and risk management arrangements are in place.

· Contribute to organisational planning, funding applications and future service development.

General Requirements

· Contribute to the wider work and objectives of Homeless Connect and FareShare.

· Work in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and values.

· Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding in all aspects of the role. Participate in supervision, appraisal, training and professional development.

· Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as required by the Community Programmes & Engagement Manager, Head of Operations or Chief Executive Officer.
