Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and expertise, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Duties
- Operate various welding techniques, including TIG welding, to assemble metal components according to specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform basic measurements and calculations using simple math skills to ensure precise fitting of parts.
- Conduct quality checks on welded joints and fabricated parts to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Assist in the assembly of finished products, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and secured.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and resolve technical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
- Architectural metal fabrication experience preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for sheet metal work.
- Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes and welding techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Experience with assembly processes involving metal components.
- Experience with a range of metals including brass, stainless, copper,pewter etc
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality assurance.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding or fabrication are preferred but not essential.
