Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking General Assistant to join our retail team.

As a General Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the store is clean, well-stocked, welcoming and ready for our customers. You will work as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards across the store.

No two days are the same, and this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
Serve customers efficiently and positively.
Operate the checkout and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
Replenish stock and ensure shelves are fully stocked and presented to a high standard.
Check product dates and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out).
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene throughout the store.
Assist with deliveries, checking stock and storing products correctly.
Ensure promotional displays and offers are correctly presented.
Help maintain high standards of food safety and health & safety.
Support colleagues across different areas of the store when required.
Deal with customer queries in a polite and helpful manner.
Follow company policies, procedures and store standards.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Store Manager or Supervisor.

Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
