Looking for a rewarding role where you can make a difference?
Are you an experienced cleaner who takes pride in doing a great job, enjoys supporting others and is looking for a role with more variety, responsibility and purpose?
Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Mobile Cleaning Supervisor to support our school cleaning teams across the local area.
This is a hands-on, people and client-focused role where you'll play an important part in supporting our colleagues and making sure our school clients consistently receive a high standard of service.
You'll be a visible representative of Clay & Co. and an important link between our cleaning teams, school clients and management team.
Previous management experience isn't essential. We're much more interested in finding an experienced, dependable cleaner who is ready to take the next step.
You'll receive £15.50 per hour, 20 guaranteed hours per week, a company van, fuel card, company phone, uniform, PPE and full training and support.
What Could Your Evening Look Like?
One of the things we think makes this role rewarding is the variety.
Some evenings you may visit several schools, catch up with our cleaners, check standards and make sure our clients are receiving the level of service we expect.
Another evening you might guide a new colleague through their site induction and first shift, deliver supplies, carry out a welfare visit or help resolve a straightforward issue.
If a cleaner is absent, your priority may change and you'll step in to provide hands-on cleaning cover.
You won't be expected to do everything at once. Your priorities will be planned around what our teams and clients need that evening.
When cleaning cover isn't required, your shift will be filled with planned support activities. You may spend most of an evening on one task or complete a few different activities across several sites.
The Role
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing hands-on cleaning cover when required
- Visiting schools and checking cleaning standards
- Supporting Cleaners and Senior Cleaners
- Guiding new colleagues through site inductions and first shifts
- Carrying out quality checks and client service visits
- Completing welfare and lone-worker check-ins
- Supporting straightforward training and toolbox talks
- Delivering cleaning supplies and equipment
- Helping resolve day-to-day cleaning, equipment or site issues
- Completing simple checklists, light paper form-filling and short factual reports when required
- Keeping management informed of relevant issues
Your 20 hours per week are guaranteed. This isn't a role where you only work when cleaning cover is required — we'll plan and prioritise your workload based on what our teams and school clients need.
Supporting Our People & Our Clients
We care about providing a reliable, high-quality service to our schools, and we also want our cleaning teams to feel supported in the work they do.
You'll build positive working relationships with our colleagues and school clients, listen to feedback, recognise when someone needs support and help make sure our service continues to meet the standards our clients expect.
You'll be trusted to use your initiative with straightforward situations, while having clear procedures and a management team behind you whenever something needs additional support.
You'll receive structured training, clear site information and a dedicated supervisor handbook to help you succeed in the role.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous professional cleaning experience
- Is reliable and takes pride in high standards
- Is friendly, approachable and professional
- Enjoys helping and supporting others
- Is comfortable building relationships with clients and colleagues
- Can work independently and use their initiative
- Remains calm and positive when plans change
- Is organised and willing to get stuck in
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is comfortable using a smartphone for work purposes and completing straightforward paper forms and checklists
- Can be trusted with keys, equipment and confidential information
Previous school, commercial cleaning, mobile cleaning, caretaking, keyholding or supervisory experience would be useful.
Previous supervisory or management experience is not essential.
