Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.

Job Introduction

We’re recruiting a Laundry Driver to join our Adult Social Care team. You’ll help us provide an essential, reliable service to people who depend on us every day. Our team supports vulnerable adults across Milton Keynes, and you’ll play a key part in making sure they receive clean, comfortable laundry that supports their wellbeing. You’ll be based within our dedicated laundry service, working closely with colleagues across Adult Social Care. If you’re someone who enjoys being out and about, meeting people, and providing a helpful, friendly service, this is the role for you.

As part of our Adult Social Care service, your work will directly help vulnerable residents live more comfortably and with dignity.

Role Responsibilities

Collect and deliver laundry to service users in a timely, respectful and safe way.
Keep accurate records about the vehicle and maintain it to a good standard.
Follow relevant policies and procedures at all times.
Build and maintain great relationships with service users and colleagues.
Represent Milton Keynes City Council in a positive and professional way.
Work with external contractors to arrange vehicle maintenance when needed.

Ideal Candidate

Someone with a full UK driving licence.
Someone dedicated to helping others and ensuring a positive experience for service users.
Someone willing to take part in training, including health and safety.
Someone with good communication and time management skills.
Someone who pays attention to detail and can work calmly and safely.
Someone who is comfortable working in a physically active role.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence . If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without this documents.
If you are offered the role, we will carry out a Basic DBS check
