Helpdesk Assistant – Fire & Security

Location: Newtownards
Salary: £26,000–£28,000 per annum
Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Employment: Full-time

About SR Fire and Security Ltd

SR Fire and Security Ltd is an established fire and security company providing professional fire protection and security solutions to our customers. We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Helpdesk Assistant to join our team in Newtownards.

The Role

As Helpdesk Assistant, you will be an important point of contact for our customers and engineers. You will be responsible for handling incoming calls and emails, logging service requests, coordinating engineer appointments and ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service.

This is a busy and varied role where good organisation, communication and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Answer incoming customer calls and emails in a professional and friendly manner.
Log and prioritise customer service calls, faults and maintenance requests.
Coordinate and schedule engineers to attend customer sites.
Liaise with engineers throughout the day to monitor job progress.
Keep customers updated regarding appointments, attendance and job status.
Monitor outstanding jobs and ensure they are followed up appropriately.
Deal with customer queries and resolve issues where possible.
Escalate urgent fire and security-related issues to the appropriate team member.
Maintain accurate records using our job management systems.
Assist with service and maintenance administration.
Work closely with our engineering, service and management teams.
Carry out general administrative duties as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Confident and professional when communicating with customers.
Calm and capable of working under pressure.
Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
A good team player with a positive and helpful attitude.
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
Comfortable using computers, email and Microsoft Office.
Customer-focused with a strong work ethic.

Previous experience in a helpdesk, customer service, scheduling, administration, engineering, facilities or fire and security environment would be beneficial, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
