We are looking for an experienced credit controller to join the accounts receivable team at Aston University.
We have multiple debtor ledgers for student fees, commercial, research, student loans and conferencing and the key purpose of the role will be to maximise income collection across these.
We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team but use their own initiative and utilise their existing skillset to resolve queries, communicate with stakeholders and interrogate and interpret system data to facilitate debt recovery.
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Management, the post holder will deliver a consistent, high-quality service, responding to queries promptly and professionally, while managing relationships across internal departments, support areas, and external bodies. Strong communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability are essential to succeed in this role.
Contributing to an excellent student/customer experience by providing advice and guidance to debtors, and maintaining robust financial processing through upholding institutional policy and procedures.
Experience required:
Maintaining a sales ledger with a varied customer portfolio
Strong communication and customer service skills
Professional attitude and ability to communicate with stakeholders
Ability to analyse data sets to prioritise debt chasing
Excellent numeracy and IT skills
Experience dealing with students in a higher education environment
Attention to detail and ability to review information held in multiple systems
Problem solving capabilities to maximise income collection
Able to offer accurate advice and information using agreed policies, procedures and terms & conditions of Aston University
