HR Assistant

About Us

We are a growing care provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for an organised, proactive HR Assistant to support our HR team in providing an excellent service across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career within the rewarding health and social care sector.

The Role

As an HR Assistant, you will provide efficient administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring HR records are accurate, compliant, and up to date. You will work closely with managers and employees, helping to maintain a positive workplace culture while supporting recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day HR activities.

Key Responsibilities

Support recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and communicating with candidates.
Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and onboarding documentation.
Process new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
Monitor right-to-work documentation and pre-employment checks.
Assist with DBS applications, references, and compliance documentation.
Track mandatory training, probation reviews, and staff compliance.
Support sickness absence monitoring and annual leave administration.
Respond to routine HR queries from managers and employees.
Ensure HR documentation complies with employment legislation and company policies.
Assist with audits and regulatory inspections, including documentation required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Professional, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
Able to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in an HR administration or HR Assistant role.
Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience maintaining confidential employee records.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent IT skills.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
