Location

Birmingham with an element of working from home. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in Great Britain and not overseas. About the job

Job summary

In this role, you will be part of a Training Delivery Team, with a focus on delivering high quality training events (both online and in-person) at workplace locations and on our open-access courses - covering employment law, good practice, and good line management skills.

It also involves business development work, following up on leads and dealing with online, Acas Helpline, and Customer Service Team referrals to generate interest in our products and services. There is strong emphasis on building customer relations.

The Training Delivery Team members are supportive and share knowledge, skills, and advice amongst each other which is a significant team strength.

You will collaborate in designing and adapting training materials for raising the standards of line manager skills in workplaces and meeting the needs of employers, employees, and their representatives.

Job description

The post holder will:

Be accountable for delivering Acas open access courses, workplace training, chargeable and non-chargeable talks, and Acas Webinars

- either digitally (using platforms such as Zoom and Teams) or at various locations in the region.
Undertake business development activities, including identification and follow up of opportunities to raise Acas' profile and increase its reach and impact.
Self-manage effectively, including time, work priorities and administrative tasks - contributing to the overall strategy and planning of the Training Delivery Team.
Support and collaborate with the Product Development Team in creating training content material.
Ensure that all contractual paperwork is completed for all chargeable work activities.
Manage systems records accountable for ensuring all relevant systems are updated with accurate data in a timely manner.
Support the wider Training Delivery Team by ensuring delegate feedback is captured appropriately.
Contribute to Acas operational and financial objectives by delivering appropriate training activities.

Person specification

Essential Experience criteria:

Experience of delivering training or developing others, or of using transferable skills (e.g. teaching, coaching, or facilitating learning) [Lead criterion].
Experience of supporting people to achieve positive outcomes, such as stakeholders, customers, or trainees, in ways that recognise and respond to different needs and working styles.
Experience of identifying and developing capability, including recognising your own or others learning needs and contributing ideas to improve ways of working with colleagues or partners.
Experience of communicating clearly across a range of formats and using common digital tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, PowerPoint) to share information in ways that suit different audiences.

Desirable criteria:

Understanding of Human Resource (HR) practices.

Interview Details
