Founded in 2010, the company has quickly established itself as one of London’s best handmade afternoon tea providers.

Brigit’s Bakery is extremely proud of the service standards and quality of baking provided in its cosy Tea Salon in the heart of Covent Garden; on board the hugely popular traditional red double-decker Routemaster Afternoon Tea Bus Tours; and the now famous Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tours.

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Demi Chef de Partie to assist our Chef with the Afternoon Tea preparation. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head chef and /or Senior Pastry Chef with the Afternoon Tea preparation
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cookies, pastries, etc. following traditional and modern recipes
Work well within the team, communicating effectively with all necessary team members to ensure all preparation, closing down, and other associated tasks are completed effectively and efficiently
Assist the Head Chef with preparation of our different menus
Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors
Check products in the kitchen unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift
Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients
Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients if required
Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and immaculate presentation
Any other reasonable duties requested by your line manager

Requirements and Skills

Proven experience as Assistant Pastry Chef for a minimum of 2 years.
Experience of working in a production kitchen
Great attention to detail and creativity
Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless, etc.)
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
The ability to work in a team

Schedule:

Early morning shift
Day shift
Weekend availability

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
