Overview

Senior Pharmacy Technician
Princess Margaret Hospital
30 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £33,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

Provide a high standard of technical support in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient, and theatre areas.
Support ward-based services such as stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and discharge preparation.
Oversee the daily work of pharmacy technicians, assistants, and trainees, supporting task allocation and workflow management.
Act as a role model and first point of contact for technical queries and day-to-day problem solving.
Lead on stock control, ordering, and inventory systems to ensure continuous availability of medications.
Monitor expiry dates, manage medicine shortages, and ensure appropriate stock rotation.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Significant experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
Strong knowledge of medicines management, stock control, and technical pharmacy services.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
