General Hospital Porter (Bank)
Nuffield Health Oxford, The Manor Hospital | Facilities | Bank Contract - Ad hoc
£13.10 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

As a General Hospital Porter at our Nuffield Health Manor Hospital, you’ll need to be a good communicator, as this role involves helping our patients to feel relaxed and reassured, before and after surgery. It’s also essential that you’re happy to undergo our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, as part of your application.

As a General Hospital Porter, you will:

Management of waste streams (clinical, domestic, recycling, special)
Security checks (early morning opening, evening lockdown, and ad hoc)
Controlling access to the basement car park
Managing of patient transfers between departments
Managing of both internal and external post (including recording of postal use by on-site third parties)
Maintain the external environment to a high standard (including the basement car park)
Moving furniture, equipment, medical gases to departments

To support the Head Porter and Facilities Manager to ensure that the third party facilities providers are delivering to the agreed levels of service.
