Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and organised Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing front desk operations, handling correspondence, and ensuring smooth daily office functions. A friendly demeanour and strong organisational skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and kindness
Handle calls and website queries with clarity and care
Book appointments and maintain accurate records
Guide patients to the most appropriate services
Invite patients for health checks, immunisations, and more
Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks and contributing to a seamless care journey

About us

We are a well-established and patient-focused GP practice located in the centre of Brighton. Our dedicated team of clinicians and staff work in a supportive and friendly environment, striving to provide the highest standard of care to our patients. We provide a variety of services to our patients including, but not limited to, minor surgery clinics, NHS travel vaccinations and ear irrigation clinics.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to GCSE (C or above) or equivalent

Desirable

Active signposting or Care Navigator training qualification.
Healthcare qualification (level 2) or working towards gaining equivalent level.
Customer service qualification (NVQ) or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working with the public

Desirable

Experience of working in a primary care environment
Experience of working in a healthcare setting

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Pay: £13.11 per hour
