On-Target Earnings (OTE): £55,000+ through our uncapped commission structure.

GoBear Loans is an FCA-authorised mortgage brokerage based in St Mellons, Cardiff, specialising in residential, buy-to-let, first charge, second charge, lifetime and commercial mortgages.
Due to continued growth, we're looking to recruit an experienced Specialist Mortgage Case Manager to join our expanding team.
As part of our specialist packaging team, you'll take ownership of mortgage applications from application through to completion. You'll work primarily across specialist first charge, second charge, residential and buy-to-let lending, together with some high street residential cases.
This is a customer-facing role that combines technical mortgage packaging with excellent relationship management. You'll work closely with customers, lenders and professional partners to ensure applications are accurately packaged, submitted efficiently and progressed through to completion.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Specialist Mortgage Case Manager, you'll manage a busy pipeline of mortgage applications from application through to completion.
The majority of your workload will involve specialist first charge, second charge, residential and buy-to-let applications, alongside some high street residential cases.
You'll assess applications against lender criteria, ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate, and package applications to lender requirements before submission.
Working closely with customers, lenders, Business Development Managers (BDMs), solicitors, surveyors, accountants and other professional partners, you'll ensure every application progresses as efficiently as possible whilst delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume pipeline of mortgage applications from application through to completion.
- Assess applications against lender criteria prior to submission.
- Package mortgage applications to lender requirements, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete, accurate and ready for submission.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, lenders, Business Development Managers (BDMs), solicitors, surveyors, accountants and other third parties.
- Liaise directly with lenders throughout the application process to progress applications efficiently.
- Identify and resolve issues that could prevent or delay applications progressing.
- Maintain regular communication with customers and all interested parties throughout the application process.
- Confidently handle customer queries and objections, providing clear and professional guidance throughout the mortgage journey.
- Keep CRM systems, customer records and internal systems accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with Advisers, Directors, Compliance and Administration teams.
- Keep up to date with lender criteria, product changes and FCA regulatory requirements.
- Prioritise and manage a busy workload whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail and customer service.
About You

Essential
- CeMAP qualified.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a Mortgage Packager and/or Underwriter role within a mortgage brokerage or specialist lending environment.
- Excellent understanding of mortgage application processes and lender criteria.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple live applications whilst maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Confidence building relationships with customers and professional partners.
- Ability to professionally handle customer questions and objections.
- A proactive, positive and solution-focused approach.
- Commitment to delivering good customer outcomes whilst maintaining FCA compliance.
Desirable
- Experience packaging specialist first charge mortgage applications.
- Experience packaging second charge mortgage applications.
- Buy-to-let mortgage experience.

Hybrid Working
This role is office-based throughout your training, probation period and until you have successfully achieved competency sign-off under our Training & Competence (T&C) Scheme.
Following successful completion of probation and competency sign-off, you'll have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, combining home and office working. If you prefer to remain office-based, you're more than welcome to do so.
